About Dragon Fruit

Dragon fruit, also called pitaya, has bright pink skin and mild, lightly sweet flesh flecked with tiny edible seeds. The flavour is delicate, so it is best served cold.

Ways to use it

  • Cubed into fruit salads
  • Scooped into smoothies and breakfast bowls

  • Served in the halved skin as an edible bowl

Choosing, storing and preparing

Pick fruit with even colour and slightly springy skin, and avoid fruit with many dark, mushy patches. Cut it lengthways and scoop the flesh out with a spoon.
